An imbalance in the aggressive factors and protective gastrointestinal tract leads to peptic ulcers. Modern medicinal prescriptions for ulcers involve use of allopathic drugs. However, several disadvantages, such as side effects, discordancy, altered physiological aspects, have led quest alternative safer medications. The herbs treat has been practiced decades Ayurveda. A combination herbs, known polyherbal formulation, shows advantages like synergistically augmented beneficial better patient compliance, reduction dose individual drugs without compromising therapeutic effects. In recent years, this valuable traditional knowledge values along with current value-added developments, ensured usage improved Ayurvedic medicine a milieu treatments. last two decades, many formulations developed evaluated their antiulcer potential. advancements analytical methods even isolation phytoconstituents from crude herbal drugs, benefits therapeutics studied. core aim review is enlighten comprehensive overview composition some marketed preclinical models prove gastroprotective potentials based on scientific findings.
